The Hotel

At McSweeney Arms Hotel Killarney we believe our gracious hospitality and Irish spirit will win you over. Once you stay at McSweeney Arms Hotel, we know you’ll return again and again.

Founded by Christy McSweeney in 1950 as a small pub, Christy married Peggy Burke from the town land of Boulicullane, Farranfore in 1951. They began developing their town pub into a unique and family run B&B soon after marriage. In 1952 their only son Tony McSweeney was born. Tony took over McSweeney’s Hotel in 1990 and is still the present owner and hands on manager.

Genuine Irish Hospitality

McSweeney’s embodies the spirit of a family run hotel – a place where hospitality is at the forefront of our culture. Today, McSweeney Arms Hotel is still owned and operated by the same McSweeney Family, providing guests with genuine Irish hospitality, ideal hotel location and comfortable rooms at a good value.

In 2014 Kelly-Ann McSweeney the third generation joined the team on completing her studies in Hotel Management & Commerce. Kelly-Ann brings an exciting and modern twist to the existing traditions.

At McSweeney Arms Hotel, most employees have been on our team for numerous years and all delight in providing warm-hearted Irish generosity. So if your travels bring you to our paradise: “Céad Míle Fáilte” (a hundred thousand welcomes).

We truly hope to see you here.
